For a few years now, Intel has had an impressive booth at the annual National Retail Federation (NRF) Show with new concepts in screen media. This year, Intel showed off a number of applications that are in the field or will be soon.

The Intel booth is always jammed packed at NRF, so when I received an invitation to set up an appointment for a tour, I jumped at the chance.

These real-world applications included Adidas, with their virtual footwear wall; McCormick's "Guess That Spice" and "FlavorPrint" experiences (which won 2012 DSA Crown Awards); METRO GROUP's intelligent shelf labels; and Pepsi's interactive vending machine.

Here is a video of the Costa Express coffee vending machine. Note all the attention to detail that went into developing this experience. (I can testify that it made an excellent cup of cappuccino.)
