What is The Basement's Elevator Pitch? Building on a foundation of interaction design, marketing and animation principles, our designs fuse objective, functionality and appeal. Throughout each project, we set out to create worth for your audience. Something worthy. Something worthwhile. The Basement has conceived, designed, developed and animated for Fortune 500 brands and audiences that reach into the millions.

The Basement was founded in 2007 by Brian Phillips and Jacob Leffler, and has nabbed several industry awards, including a National Addy, W3 Awards, and International Creativity Awards.

About You: Jacob Leffler, President:

Jacob oversees operations and business initiatives for The Basement. Sometime in the latter 90’s between the commercialization of the internet and the final episode of Married with Children, Jacob began his career in advertising. His career highlights range from managing objectives and production for several international brands, to navigating start-ups through hyper growth, venture capital and growing them during industry recessions. In 2007, he co-founded The Basement with Brian Phillips, their third successful private company launch. He has used his industry wisdom, marketing strategy and technical expertise to engineer solutions for hundreds of digital projects and campaigns, receiving client appreciation and industry awards in the process. Jacob belongs to a few hand-picked advertising and media organizations and enjoys volunteering through community organizations whenever he gets the chance.

What do you think about the current digital signage/digital out-of-home landscape? There are an ever-growing variety of screens, new technologies and capabilities to offer to the end user. However, at the end of the day, great storytelling, big ideas and creating unforgettable interactions create the biggest impact.

Simon Malls

In 2013, The Basement partnered with Simon Malls to create a user-friendly digital mall directory and incentive platform. The Simon Mall Insider iBar includes four stationed iPads with access to mall information, special events, store specials, and rewards for checking in.

AgriGold

The Basement was invited to join the AgriGold account to help with the User Experience on their enterprise website. In addition, we helped design and build a new sales application. The application is manangeable at the corporate and field levels.
