In less than 16 years, Rick Malone has taken KIOSK Information Systems from a small start-up company to a dominant industry leader. He has intimate knowledge of every nuance of a kiosk project and how to navigate a customer to a world-class solution. Rick has built an exceptional leadership team, leveraging his first hand experience in engineering, sales, operations, finance, and service. His dynamic leadership style and competitive nature have guided the company through record growth years (up to 575% over five years), earning KIOSK national recognition on the 2004 Deloitte & Touche list of 50 Fastest Growing Companies. With five facility moves and 12 expansions over the years, KIOSK is still enjoying double-digit growth.
Since starting the company, Rick has played a pivotal role in closing KIOSK’s key client base. His ability to grasp a customer’s vision and execute the end solution has won KIOSK strategic clients in virtually every self-service vertical market. The caliber of clients closed includes WalMart, McDonalds, Anheuser Bush, Federal Express, Department of Homeland Security, among countless other Fortune 500 names.
Rick’s eye for quality design engineering, and a strong sense of market direction has resulted in a highly profitable family of standard and custom products. Competitive operational and quality leadership measures, including ISO9001 quality and service initiatives, have earned KIOSK a reputation as a trusted OEM manufacturer.
Prior to founding KIOSK, Rick started his career designing electrical-mechanical toys for Western Technologies and then moved on to become a Sales Engineer for Portescap. Acting as the key marketing and sales partner, he enjoyed success helping develop two small startup companies, TWIX and NCI, that created PC based POS systems for specialty retailers. He graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a B.S. in engineering in 1980.
