Making Healthcare Interactive and Fun
Higi makes tracking your health simple, fun and rewarding. Easily accessible in retail stores, at home, at work and on-the-go, higi ‘s suite of health engagement technology helps people improve their health by taking small, yet meaningful steps that lead to positive and lasting habits.
By providing tools that are already integrated into consumers’ daily lives, higi makes it simple to track health and fitness anytime, anywhere. higi is rethinking how people view health by gamifying the process including the higi Score,a single number from 0-999 unique to each user based on health vitals and awareness of one’s health. The more you know and the more you do, the more you’re rewarded…in higi and in health.
higi partnered with CSA to create kiosks that combined interactive technology with educational and engaging information that would help bring health to the forefront of the consumer's mind. The requirements for a successful kiosk were intense, and the CSA Kiosk Division team worked diligently with the higi team to create a solution that met the following criteria.
- Ease of use
- ADA compliant
- Durability of physical device to withstand traffic
- Highly accurate vital sign measurement technology
- Ease of service and upgradeability
- Privacy and security of health information
- Cellular connectivity
- Remote administration and monitoring
- Transaction-based auditing and reporting
- FDA certification on all health related components
What were the results?
higi Stations are rolling out to retail pharmacies, grocery stores, and other locations nationwide. Using cloud-based technology to aggregate measurements of users’ body and lifestyle choices gives higi better access, and administration over each individual kiosk.
This has spawned a community centered around the “higi Score”, an aggregated measurement that represents users’ overall health status. Users can update their health stats via their smartphone or at higi Stations.
Higi announced in February an agreement with Rite Aid, one of the nation's leading drugstore chains, to become the sole provider of health stations in stores nationwide. The company will deploy approximately 4,100 higi Stations across the United States beginning in the second quarter of 2014 and projects completion of the rollout by early 2015.
Based upon current rollout plans, by the end of 2015 higi Stations will be conveniently available to users at well over 6,000 retail and corporate wellness locations in 34 states, as well as the District of Columbia.
