In the past when someone mentioned LED (Light Emitting Diode) Displays it was generally understood that the conversation was about outdoor electronic signage or billboards. But today, with an estimated 3.5 million screens currently in use (primarily outdoors), and with expectations of that number doubling by 2015 (hopefully with an increasing proportion going indoor) the race to expand LED-based product offerings by the various hardware companies around the world is on. The question then is: What does this mean to the digital signage industry as a whole?
