I have been a member of the DSA since its inception and have interacted with association members, attended tradeshows, conferences and digital screenmedia education sessions for many years. I enjoy the interaction, I look forward to finding out what's new in the industry, and I like building relationships.
Over the past few years, much emphasis and shifting has gone to mobile and its integration with digital signage; interactive touch screens, and the creation of broadcast quality content. Having as many connections as I do makes aligning partners and solutions much easier. It was no surprise that the DSA is launching regional networking opportunities to connect members on a more frequent basis at the local level. Members helping members is a beautiful thing.
Skype, Facebook, LinkedIn, email, Tweets, and texting are all useful tools for staying connected, but we cannot forget how important and powerful face-to-face interaction is. Here is a shout out to the 30 or so Minneapolis-based DSA Members, and especially the 11 who have agreed to be on the planning committee of the local networking group. Whoo-hoo! Happy New Year!
